Gary Numan brought his Pleasure Principle anniversary performances to Australia and New Zealand in May 2011, revisiting the 1979 album that established him as a solo artist. The concerts placed its electronic sound at the centre of the set while also drawing on material from other stages of his career.
The tour comprised six venues across two countries, covering approximately 3,239 miles. It opened at The Tivoli in Brisbane, Australia, on 12 May 2011 and concluded at The Edge in Auckland, New Zealand, on 21 May 2011.
Performances included The Pleasure Principle songs such as “Airlane”, “Cars”, “Metal”, “Films”, “M.E.” and “Complex”, alongside “Are 'Friends' Electric?”, “Down In The Park” and later songs including “Pure”, “Halo” and “The Fall”. The tour brought together the original album's material and selections from Numan's subsequent recordings.
